
Ibrahim Musa Gusau emerged the new president of the Nigeria Football Federation at the elective Congress that took place at the Heritage Hotel Benin City, Edo State, witnessed by the 44 delegates from across the country that casted their votes to usher in a new leadership for the football federation.
The Technical Adviser of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Rangers International of Enugu, Coach Abdul Maikaba has sent a congratulatory message to the new NFF President Ibrahim Gusau for this great achievement emerging the new leader of the Nigeria Football federation after 8 years Leadership of Amaju Pinnick came to an end.

The contenders for the NFF Presidential position are Ibrahim Gusau, CAF committee member and the Zamfara FA Chairman; Seyi Akinwunmi, first Vice President of the NFF; Shehu Dikko, the Chairman of the League Management Company; Peterside Idah Idah, a former Super Eagles goalkeeper; Abba Yola, the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Sports.
Gusau needed 22 votes to win hence a final run-off for all candidates that had at least one vote
Akinwunmi, Dikko, and Abba Yola all stepped down. Gusau the Zamfara State Football Association chairman would emerge victorious and now lead the NFF for the next four years.
